Bangladesh’s Covid resilience strengthens: Bloomberg

Bangladesh has advanced five rungs to rank 39th among 53 countries in the Bloomberg's Covid Resilience Ranking for September released last week, which indicates that the country's resilience to the deadly virus has strengthened. Bangladesh achieved an overall score of 59.6 out of 100, while India scored 56.2 and Pakistan 56.1 in the September's ranking. This big shift upward has occurred as the country recorded its lowest number of daily deaths in nearly four months and schools reopened after being shut for more than 500 days, said the Bloomberg. As a result of a downward trend in Covid-19 infections, Bangladesh's Resilience Ranking improved from the 48th position in July to 44th in August and 39th in September.

HPM Sheikh Hasina: A ‘Jewel in the Crown’ of the Sustainable Development Landscape

According to a noted economist, Bangladesh regained its hope and aspiration for restarting the developmental journey in a manner which was initiated by Bangabandhu when his eldest daughter HPM Sheikh Hasina returned home in May 1981 after the sojourn of more than half a decade of political asylum. In a nutshell, one may portray the characteristics of her transformative development philosophy as oriented towards 'high growth and yet focused on inclusiveness', 'self-reliant and collaborative' and 'respect for indigenous culture and openness to innovation, writes the economist in a column marking the birth anniversary of Bangladesh premier. In reference to HPM’s well-designed planned approach to sustainable development thriving on favourable macroeconomic policies with in-built desired incentives, the writer elaborated “young demographic structure, strong and rising labor force including higher growth of female human resources and major digitalisation helped Bangladesh emerge out confidently as one of the first few fast-moving countries of the world.”

‘Thank you, PM’: Video notes pour in from all over Bangladesh on HPM’s birthday

"Thank You, PM", a campaign launched by Awami League web team has received an overwhelming response from different parts of the country with senders thanking the premier for a range of initiatives undertaken by her, including vaccination drives across the country and mega infrastructure projects. The campaign invited everyone to send a thank-you note video addressed to the prime minister for her many initiatives they have benefitted from. According to media reports, within 18 days, as many as 1,000 videos were received while following initial scrutiny, these videos are shared from Awami League's verified Facebook page marking the occasion.

HPM Sheikh Hasina survives 19 assassination attempts

The heinous conspiracy that began with the brutal murder of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1975 has continued to catch his daughter Sheikh Hasina who launched the Herculean task to bring back Bangladesh on track after her return to home from exile a few years after Bangabandhu's assassination. She has been the symbol of the secular forces against the anti-Liberation forces that got upper hand and ruled the country after the 1975 bloody changeover. There have been as many as 19 murder attempts on Awami League chief and HPMSheikh Hasina, which is quite unprecedented in the annals of global politics. The number of assassination attempts she has survived places her among a few world leaders in modern history who survived such attacks. Assassins were always active for decades to kill her in the long orchestrated conspiracy to eliminate the secular force from Bangladesh.
