Bangladesh is set to embark on a new era of commuting with a new mode of transport in the capital-the elevated metro rail of Dhaka, thanks to prudent leadership put in display by HPM Sheikh Hasina. Braving the pandemic induced shutdown, the work on country’s first the metro rail project up to Motijheel marked significant progress rising optimism about completion of the project before the stipulated time. With the metro line-6 in place, 14 trains would operate every three minutes and carry 60,000 passengers every hour in both directions.

The city corporation authorities approved an action plan for low-carbon, climate-resilient development, supported by ICLEI, making Narayanganj the first Bangladeshi city to adopt such a plan.
